20 year old Sophie Lancaster and her boyfriend were attacked in a park in the Lancashire town of Bacup in August 2007 and left for dead. The victims were immediately rushed to hospital in a critical condition, their life hanging in the balance. The police immediately launched an investigation and set about tracing everyone who was in the park that night but soon encountered frightened young people too afraid to talk.
