The intervention of the authorities with the consequent arrest of Leo throws both Rosy and Regina in complete despair. The young man is taken to the prison of Nisida, becoming a cellmate of some "pawn" boys of Antonio Costello. By the intercession of the quaestor Licata, it is ordered that Leonardo be transferred to a safer prison but, at the request of Costello, Leonardo is beaten up, managing to get by with broken ribs and some bruises. Thus the fear of Rosy that the prison could become Leonardo's tomb grows more and more: the ex-Queen of Palermo convinces both Regina and Luca to collaborate to save the boy making him escape. Luca agrees to establish together with them an unprecedented action team, now sure of Leo's innocence in Nadia's murder. Once the plan was successful, Rosy, Leo and Regina are ready to leave Italy and start a new life; in fact, thanks to Luca's help (which meanwhile has to deal with his colleagues, all corrupted by Costello) they manage to get passports. Leonardo, however, having overcome a terrible heroin withdrawal crisis, does not intend to leave without saying goodbye to Nina: so he pleads with Regina to go to her, and to greet her on her part. After an initial reluctance, the night before departure, Mainetti went to Nina, who revealed that she possessed evidence of Leonardo's innocence: having returned from Rosy and Leo, the girl revealed that she had discovered spying on a discussion of her father, that Diego has the video of the surveillance cameras of the shed where the inspector Nadia Aversa was murdered (by Costello and not by Leonardo). Suddenly Maometto and other Costello's men who had followed Nina burst in: a terrible firefight broke out in which Queen and Mohammed lost their lives, shot at each other. Rosy, Luca and Leo go looking for Diego, but they arrive too late: the boy has already dealt with Costello who had him assassinated.
