On this episode, Alex and Devon notice their son Rodney playing ""argument"" with his action figures. Worrying that they spend too much time causing a scene in front of him, they decide to seek therapy. Later, attending Parents Nigt at Rodney's school, they encounter a number of eccentric, over-bearing parents and teachers. Devon, uncomfortable with the rathy touchy-feely atmosphere, makes a comment that offends gay parent Ian who, by all accounts, makes him wish he never made the comment in the first place. On the flip side, Ethan and Eleanor expecting a baby has consumed their lives so much that they fear they've become a boring, uninteresting, and lifeless couple.
