The residents of the street have all heard that Richard has confessed to Maxine's murder before he absconded. The news is broken to Emily, who is upset when she realises that he was intending to kill her but Maxine interrupted him. She admits to Norris that he was right about Richard all along, and Norris proceeds to comfort her. At the same time, the police call on Ashley and Fred to inform them that Richard was the one who killed Maxine and that he also framed Ade for the crime.
