Still stung by Andy’s lies, Katie argues with him over his concern for Jo and he accuses her of inviting Jackie over simply to stir things up. Meanwhile, Jackie continues to pour scorn on Jo’s life, and Andy feels moved to confront her. Jackie springs to her defences and gives him her side of the story, suggesting that Jo has lied. Confused, Andy is torn whether to believe mother or daughter. Over at Edna’s, Len and Pearl’s attempts to coax her out of the house prove difficult. Pearl almost has a breakthrough when she remarks that Tootsie must be missing her walks. Edna agrees, but then suggests that Pearl walk her dog instead. Resignedly, Pearl takes Tootsie out but when distracted by Betty, manages to lose her in the village.
