Diane is facing a crisis as her feelings for Jack grow stronger. She begins to realise that Alan may not be the man for her after all. She confides in Bernice, but she is unable to offer any solutions. Later, Bernice is put in an uncomfortable position when Alan tells her that he is concerned about his relationship with Diane. Diane visits Jack in the hope that they might be able to talk about their feelings for each other, but she is disappointed when he failed to raise the subject.
