Adam is worried for Betty after she discovers Alan and Terence are moving out, but she insists she wants to be left alone. Later, Adam is convinced that something is going on with Steph but initially she refuses to admit she is being threatened by Terence. Meanwhile, at a palm reading evening, Nicola is miffed when she's told her love life may be in trouble. When Simon returns from the pub, Nicola showers Simon with affection but an argument ensues. Also, Tom discovers his visitors are arriving a day earlier than expected and asks Pearl whether Nicola is still providing silver service catering. Pearl spots an opportunity to raise cash to fund her trip to Hong Kong and she tells Tom she has taken over that side of the business and agrees to provide staff for the night.
