Rosemary and Tom arrange some engagement drinks to celebrate their engagement. Both families are suspicious and Chas wonders why Rosemary would leave Oakwell for Home Farm. Rosemary is defiant that she loves Tom and is moving for him, but Matthew is quick to warn her away from the family business. Meanwhile, Sandy is a constant source of irritation for Alan and asks why Betty tolerates his disgusting habits. After Betty is non-committal to his queries, Alan is forced to find solace elsewhere.
